the team that built the world’s first Tagless Activity Tracking system

At Plato, we’re on a mission to revolutionize industrial operations. We’ve built a new disruptive technology— the world’s first tagless tracking system—to digitize industrial environments, powering automation and productivity goals. Our proprietary Deep Fusion technology leverages advanced machine learning to combine complementary sensors, and provides reliable and scalable 3D activity tracking, data fusion, and spatial intelligence– without physical tagging of objects or the need for complex infrastructure. Our platform is used to drive safety and efficiency in supply chain and manufacturing ops.

<aside> 🚡 Imagine if you could in a scalable way track every object, equipment, asset across all of your sites what could you do with that data? Plato gives industrial customers an opportunity to answer that question.

our mission

The most challenging problems in machine perception and sensor fusion? that’s our bread and butter. Rooted in 5+ years of academic research, our proprietary deep fusion technology was created after a team of industry experts and Stanford academics joined forces to address the most fundamental problems in the space. Our mission now is taking that fundamentally new technology out of the lab and directly into the hands of our industrial customers, ushering the industrial automation space out of antiquity and into the digital transformation age.

“We’re building a new deep technology. It’s real. We’re taking these academic ideas and putting them into a product. The core technology has applications that go even beyond the market segments we’re focusing on today. What we’re building here has true long-term potential.” —Brian Sandler, founding engineer

intellectual curiosity = our DNA

Intellectual curiosity is at the core of our DNA, our passion for knowledge and our appetite for technical challenges drive us. It’s how we’ve accomplished the work of 70+ with a team as small as 10.

Fusing brilliant minds has become our superpower. Our team brings together experts across multiple disciplines —advanced sensor systems, signal processing, machine learning, embedded systems, and algorithms, to name a few— to collaborate, teach, and learn from one another.

“The expertise and complexity of the product cuts across all layers of the stack” says co-founder Amin Arbabian, “and that, from a learning perspective, also makes us unique.”

our team

“When the timing felt right, we went for it. I brought the science and research background, Kia brought his product knowledge from Uber, and we brought Aria on as the machine learning and engineering element. He became the third leg of our stool” says Amin. From there, they built a close knit, multi-disciplinary team of passionate scientists, researchers, and engineers.

Each member brings their own unique expertise to the team, along with an equal passion for pushing the envelope + mutual desire to learn from one another. And indeed, their resumes are quite stacked 👀 see you yourself!
